Clarification

My last entry probably should have some clarification.  As of now, I will not be proudly joining our United States Military due to medical reasons.  My backup plan was to move to TX and be near my family for a few years.  That has now become my current plan.  Thanks to everyone who supported me in my decision about the military, even though I know most of you were not happy about it.  But, I guess I am not off to battle insurgents anymore, and yes, i am very disappointed.  If anyone has any job hookups in TX i would be eternally grateful.  I am hoping to move to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, or else El Paso.

ADIOS MINNESOTA!!!  Catch ya in a few years. Graduation is coming up, and I am getting the hell out of here.  BTW if anyone wants to move to TX with me let me know, it's a good place.

So, I started umping softball games today for UMD.  It was a long day, I had class from 9 - 4, then I umped from 5-9, then I had a softball game at 11.  So right now, I'm about beat.  However, I don't have class until 3 tomorrow, so that will be nice.

I also went home with a friend of mine this weekend, and got to see a farm for the first time in my life.  I got to pet a piglet, sit in the driver's seat of a combine, and climb to the top of a corn bin.  It was pretty cool.  But, when I got home yesterday I called my parents and thanked them for not making me grow up in a small town.  It is a totally different kind of place.

I'm so ready to get out of duluth right now.  I love my friends, and have had a great experience, but I just don't feel like there is anything left for me here.  I guess I've just had a rough semester with everything that has happened, but everything just seems kind of bleak right now.  Maybe a change of scenery will do me some good.

Breaking up is hard to do, especially when the guy is your best friend...

Well, it's been a while since I last posted.  I was in Las Vegas for 5 days over spring break, and it was great.  I didn't gamble, and didn't really drink though, which seems odd for Vegas, but it was still a blast.  The weather was in the low sixties while I was there, which was a nice change from the below zero weather of Duluth.  We flew out in a snow storm though, which was a bit traumatic for me, as I am afraid of flying in normal conditions.

I can't believe that in less than two months I will finally be graduating from college. It's very exciting, but a bit scary.  I have worked my ass off in the last five years, pulling 40-50 hours of studying per week up until this semester, which has been kind of a slacker semester for me.  I just need to be done.

Other than that nothing much is new.  The Army may be revamping its officer program so that we don't go to basic training, but go to OBS instead of OCS.  OBS is supposed to be more physical, and it's longer than OCS, so it's kind of a combo of Basic and OCS.  Hopefully all that stuff will get worked out soon.

My parents flew out to Texas today.  My grandfather isn't doing too well, so I'm hoping that everything will be okay down there.  He is 83 years old though, and has had problems for the last four years.  At least he has had a good long life, but it is always hard seeing people you love get older and weaker.

As it's 2 already, I should probably head to bed.  Tomorrow is sure to be another long day.

Lucky Boys Confusion

Yeah, so I was home this weekend to see the greatest band: Lucky Boys Confusion.  I have seen them about 15 or 16 times by now. I think I got kicked in the chest or something in the mosh pit, because I have a bruise there, and it hurts...I was drunk so don't remember for sure.  I think I started listening to them when I was about 16 years old, and well the rest is history.  Anyway, went bowling after, all of Joe's band was at the bowling alley, so I got all excited thinking that becca would be there...but nope neither her nor joe were there.

Anyway, my life if pretty darn boring, and I'm about to finish up some homework and go to bed...
